Small Hands
Posted by: Ralph Serrano
I am a freelance photographer and I have been shooting for quite some time. I capture it as I see it, understanding the picture is in the eye of the beholder. It may tell a story, it may not. To me, as to most photographers, our pictures all had, and still have, meanings. The question is, do others appreciate or enjoy them?
Here is one of my recent favorites. I saw a young boy playing with his small cars and asked if I could take a picture. He placed the car in both of his hands and offered the car to me and said, “You can play with it if you want.” I agreed, but only if he would hold it for a few seconds so I could snap a picture of the car in his hands. I had one shot at it and, as we know from a child’s perspective, only seconds to complete. Well one shot was all I was able to get, and this picture is the result. It may not be the best, but it tells a story; a story that most of us grownups can relate to. Hope it is enjoyed and brings back a bit of the child in all of us.
