I was wandering around on some forgotten country road accompanied only by my camera and an annoying pebble in my boot. Suddenly, I felt a horrible loneliness. I turned around and an old road tombstone welcomed me with the sad, weathered rock face of a soldier who gave his life in an old and forgotten war.  A dead hero gazing with his stone eyes at passers-by who walk on, uninterested in his sacrifice. If someone would look closely enough, could he hear his constant whisper: “I would take all that back…let me go home”?

So I had to steal that moment. I whispered to the unlucky solder of misfortune, “Don’t worry, sir. You will never be alone again. I’m taking a part of your stone soul with me to share with others!”
